It's hard to believe we are more than half way through 2017. Back to school is right around the corner and, as usual, there are a million things on the to do list. I was just talking with a friend about how great it is to have choices but too many choices can be overwhelming. Decision fatigue affects us all and often leads to poor choices and/or an inability to make a decision at all. No wonder we don't accomplish all the things we have on our list. So, what to do? Find your focus. Eliminating or minimizing some decisions like what to wear or what to eat, can make life easier. Think of Steve Jobs and his "uniform" or how kids want the same pb & j day after day. It can also help to follow a program designed to help you find and maintain your focus. Especially when it comes to self-care. While the notion that it takes a minimum of 21 days to form a new habit, has evolved into a myth that you will be a changed person in those 21 days, it can be a good jump start. To that end, I have provided links to two free 21 day programs beginning tomorrow, 7/17/17. The third link is a brief video with ideas to inspire healthy, happy choices to focus on. It's hard to pause in a world that values multi-tasking and busy-ness but sometimes it helps to slow down and find your focus.
